Dr. Jane Wachter
Originating from Ravenna, NE, Dr. Wachter has over a decade of experience working in the field of dentistry. While she enjoys treating patients and improving people’s pearly whites, her number one favorite thing to do is to help those who are apprehensive about dental care to overcome their fears. Read on to learn a little more about her background and hobbies.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
It was during her second year in college when Dr. Wachter was assisting her father, who was also a dentist, that she learned to love the patient interaction. With her growing interest in the dental field, she went on to research more about the profession, shadowed procedures, and completed personality tests to make sure she would be a great fit for dentistry. Now, she gets to do the thing she loves and never feels like she works a day in her life!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
To become a dentist, Dr. Wachter first went to the University of Nebraska at Kearney for her undergraduate degree before moving on to study at the University of Nebraska Medical Center – College of Dentistry for her dental doctorate. She then began practicing dental care in Iowa for three years before taking over her father’s practice when he was ready to retire, and she’s been treating patients in her hometown since 2015.
Dr. Wachter is dedicated to pursuing continuing education so that she can constantly refine her skills and remain up-to-date with the latest advancements. She’s also an active member of professional organizations like the American Dental Association and the Nebraska Dental Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
When she isn’t helping patients and treating pearly whites, Dr. Wachter spends her time with her loving husband and their two beautiful children, as well as their dog, Leo. When she has the chance, she enjoys cooking, crafting with her kids, golfing, and going on camping trips. One interesting fact about her: she used to practice Taekwondo when she was a teenager.
