Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Grand Island, NE
Ask Your Grand Island Dentist
We believe it’s extremely important to educate our patients as well as treat them, because in our experience, the more you know about taking care of your smile, the healthier it will be! That’s why we welcome all questions and are willing to take the time to provide thorough answers. You’re always welcome to give us a call and ask whatever is on your mind, but first, be sure to read over our responses to some of our most popular questions below.
How often should I visit the dentist?
The team at Stec & Stines Cosmetic and Family Dentistry typically abide by the American Dental Association recommendation that patients visit the dentist twice a year for dental checkups and cleanings. These preventive visits allow us to prevent many oral health concerns and diagnose and treat others in their earliest stages.
Can I bring my kids to your office?
We love working with children, and all of our dentists have training and experience working with kids from around the age of one. We’d love to offer your whole family the high-quality dentistry services that keep Grand Island residents coming back year after year.
What is periodontal disease?
Periodontal disease is more commonly referred to as gum disease. It occurs when plaque and tartar build up along and below the gum line and leads to irritated or inflamed gum tissue. Eventually, sores form, breaking down connective tissue and creating deep pockets between teeth and gums where more plaque and tartar can accumulate, further degrading gum health.
Can you help if I have an emergency?
We are happy to help our patients of record during dental emergencies. Simply call our office, and we’ll do our best to offer same-day treatment. If this is not possible, we’ll take time to explain first-aid care you can perform at home to protect your smile until you arrive at our office.
Do you take my insurance?
We’re happy to process and file claims for any dental benefit plan, and we are in-network providers with BlueCross and Delta Dental Premier. Regardless of what dental insurance plan you use, we’ll be happy to help you maximize your benefits.
Can I finance my dental care?
Yes! You can sign up for CareCredit right through our website, which offers flexible, low-to-no interest payment plans that are perfect for patients who lack insurance or want procedures that aren’t covered by their policy.
